Pandit Ramachandra V Hegde

Born In 1953, at Halladkai in Sirsi Taluk, Karnataka in a family with a rich musical background. His grandfather Manjappa Hegde was a well known musician.

Initial Training:

Started learning Hindustani Vocal and was fascinated by the Sitar. Began tralning under Pt. (Dr.) Bindu Madhav Pathak, a well known Sitar and Rudraveena player of the Bande Ali Khan Gharana. Under Pt (Dr.) Bindu Madhav Pathak’s guidance started learning Sitar and had guidance for playing Rudraveena which is a rare and difficult instrument to play. Also had guidance to play Surbahar.

Sangeet Alankar (M. Music) from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai.

B High Grade artist of All India Radio in both Sitar and Rudraveena

Profession:

Worked as Professor and HoD, in the Department of Music, M N Arts and Science College, Sirsi.

Scholarships in the early days:

Received scholarships from the State as well as the Central Government during the student life.

Awards and Recolonizations:

Have been Honoured in Moolight Music Festival. Shree Karikamapameshwari Temple Hill In 2017.

Awarded “Karnataka Kalashree” by Sangeeta and Nrutya Academy, Govt. of Karnataka in 2015.

Received a Silver Shield from Vasudha Janmadinotsava Samiti.

Awarded as ” Tantu Vadya Praveena” from Nataraja Sangeetha Vidyalaya and ” Raga Praveena” by Mitra Musicals.

M/s Lahari Musics has released Rudraveena CD “Dhyana Bindhu”.

Performances:

Regularly programming for All India Radio and Doordarshan.

Performed at Music and Dance Academy, Govt. of Karnataka at Mysore Dasara.

Had honour of playing the Rudraveena in the National Programme of music of All India Radio.

Palyed Rudraveena for many Yoga and Meditation classes all over India.

Given Interview about Rudraveen in Doordarshan with Dr. Nagaraj Hawaldar, a renowned Vocalist.

Performed in Sankata Mochana Sangeet Samaroha, Banaras.

Performed in Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai.

Addition to Music:

Have done Music Direction for historical and mythology drama and composed many songs.

Running Gurukula System Music School and training students from all over India, where many of the students are AIR artists and regular performers.

As a tribute father Shri Vishwanath Heqde and Guru Pt. (Dr) Bindu Madhav Pathak, conducting Music Concerts at native place Halladkai, and well known artistes from all over India have performed.

Founded Nada Madhava National Award in memory of Great Guru Dr. Bindu Madhav Pathak.
